Thank you to our volunteers
BreastScreen WA thanks our Assessment Centre volunteers
In recognition of National Volunteers Week (21 – 27 May) BreastScreen WA acknowledges our wonderful team of volunteers across our assessment centres.
This is Carol from Friends of RPH...
Carol has volunteered in the Breast Assessment Clinic for six years and enjoys being able to bring a smile to people in a situation that can be challenging. Carol works every Wednesday morning and enjoys being able to give back.
BreastScreen WA always receives glowing feedback regarding volunteers from our patients. The women find the volunteers warm and friendly and the offer of a “cuppa” can make a huge difference to the patients’ stress levels and enhance a sense of caring in the clinical environment.
Julie Wilkes, Senior MIT Breast Assessment Clinic at Royal Perth Hospital said, “We certainly notice when we don’t have a volunteer for a day! They do so much more than make tea. They run specimens to pathology, take ladies to other areas and are always willing to help out with tasks when asked. The volunteers are appreciated hugely by everyone in the clinics!”
BreastScreen WA thanks our lovely volunteers!!
