BreastScreen WA launches more user-friendly online booking system in breast cancer awareness month

BreastScreen WA is proud to unveil the new interface to their online booking platform in October, breast cancer awareness month.

BreastScreen WA first launched online booking in 2014 and was the first WA Health clinical service to allow clients to make their own bookings via a digital platform. BreastScreen WA clients have embraced this medium with about a third of all bookings being made online. As technology continues to improve BreastScreen WA is keen to enhance the system to improve the overall client experience.

BreastScreen WA values all client feedback and after noticing difficulties some clients were having with online bookings wanted to create a new-look system to make it easier for women to book their free mammogram.

The new system allows for a quick search for a convenient appointment time at any of the ten metropolitan clinics, Bunbury or rural mobile vans. After some simple questions to confirm eligibility there is a follow up email or SMS confirmation. Women needing an interpreter and those with special requirements are still required to contact the call centre on 13 20 50 during business hours.

“All WA women aged 40 and above, with no breast symptoms, are eligible for a free mammogram and will be able to book their appointment online or by calling 13 20 50”, said BreastScreen WA’s Medical Director, Dr Liz Wylie.

BreastScreen WA continues to lead in service improvement innovation while retaining the client centred approach required for this important service.

Book your free screening mammogram online or phone 13 20 50.
