New BreastScreen WA Clinic opens in Albany

On Friday 4 June 2021, MLA for Albany, The Hon Rebecca Stephens on behalf of the Minister for Health, announced the opening of a new BreastScreen WA Clinic in Albany that will operate year-round, permanent clinic at 2/2 Barnesby Drive, Yakamia.
This new permanent clinic provides increased access for Albany and women living in the surrounding region to participate in screening and early detection.
The fixed clinic will provide all year-round screening and will replace the Mobile Screening Unit which currently visits Albany an average of 12-15 months out of every two-year cycle.
The clinic is open 3 days a week and is expected to provide an average of 3,000 screens annually to women in the Greater Southern region of Western Australia.
The clinic has been designed to accommodate future growth in demand and has the capacity to increase to fulltime screening and house a second x-ray machine.
All women aged 50-74 years are invited to have a free screening mammogram every two years. To make an appointment at the Albany Clinic you can book online or call 13 20 50.
