    BreastScreen WA runs and walks for women's cancer 11 May 2026 BreastScreen WA staff had a wonderful time supporting breast and ovarian cancer research at the Mother's Day Classic over the weekend. Staff either ran 10km or 5km, or walked 5km across the beautiful course, starting from Charles Paterson Park, crossing Boorloo Bridge, continuing along the foreshore before crossing Matagarup Bridge and back to the start point, all with stunning views of the Swan River. The team included Women and Newborn Health Service Executive Director, radiologists, radiographers, and administrative, IT and Health Promotion staff and their families. So far, the team has raised over $2360 towards this important cause. Well done all!

  • Stall at Pride Fairday
    Pride Fairday 15 November 2022 BreastScreen WA alongside National Bowel Cancer Screening Program and National Cervical Screening Program promoted their joint collaboration on the Screening Saves Lives campaignat Pride Fairday on Sunday 13th November. Part of this campaign was to provide information on cancer screening using inclusive and non-gendered language. The campaign also features a range of images using “Heroes” who volunteered from the LGBTQIA+ community to advocate for cancer screening. Overall, BreastScreen WA made 9 bookings, and spoke to hundreds of people around their eligibility for each screening Program.

    Pink Ribbon Breakfast 2022 a "wonderful event" 31 October 2022 This year's Pink Ribbon Breakfast was another successful event. Attendees were impressed with the guest speakers who shared their unique perspectives and life stories. Jane Armstrong gave an educational and eye-opening perspective into the reality of health outcomes amongst the LGBTQIA+ community and how it differs greatly from the mainstream. They also talked about theScreening Saves Livescampaign, and the importance of collaboration between the three National Screening Programs and community groups to ensure content is appropriate and relevant for the LGBTQIA+ community.The Hon Ayor Makur Chuot shared her incredible and inspiring life story of hope, sisterhood, and community on her journey from a refugee in South Sudan, to a politician in Australia. Breast cancer remains the most common cancer among Australian women (excluding non-melanoma skin cancer). Survival rates continue to improve in Australia with 89 out of every 100 women diagnosed with invasive breast cancer now surviving five or more years beyond diagnosis. Take the time in October to find out what you need to know aboutbreast awarenessand share this important information with your family, friends and colleagues.     Pink Ribbon Breakfast 2022 is announced for October 24th 08 August 2022 Lock it in your diaries- BreastScreen WA's annual Pink Ribbon Breakfast is happening on Monday October 24th this year. The event is held at Fraser's Restaurant in King's Park and will feature a delicious breakfast and talks from two incredible guest speakers.   • Mobile screening truck at EWE with information booth
    BreastScreen WA returns to EveryWoman Expo 2022! 10 June 2022 BreastScreen WA returns to EveryWoman Expo with the mobile screening truck for the second year running, with the goal of screening as many eligible women as possible over the three day event. Eligible women over 40 attending the Expo will have exclusive access to appointments for that weekend on the mobile screening truck situated on the Expo floor. Last year, at the truck's Expo debut, BreastScreen WA’s hard-working radiographers screened 136 women, and spoke to over 750, handing out resources and pink merchandise. This year, BreastScreen WA is more equipped and ready to screen even more women with more staff and more available appointments. EveryWoman Expo is this weekend, from Fri 17- Sun 19 June.
