BreastScreen WA launches new video campaign on social media
Meet our clients Gail, Lyn, Sarah, Lisa, Lesley, Helen, Liz, Nada, Mel, Ang and Jo who represent the diversity of women who attend BreastScreen WA.
This new campaign confronts the “elephant in the room” by talking about the reasons why women may choose not to have a mammogram, and then looking at the reality of it.
After canvassing BSWA staff and clients, four themes stood out as to reasons women may put off this important health check.
These are fear of pain during the process, body image issues (embarrassment), fear of finding out they have breast cancer and not having enough time.
The campaign involves sponsored posts on Facebook for a four week period in May/June 2019. Photographs of the featured clients will soon be appearing in all BreastScreen WA clinics.
Thank you to all the clients involved in the videos who shared their personal experiences and who gave so generously of their time.
