Appointment of New BreastScreen WA Director

Portrait of Dr Emmeline Lee
30/01/2025

We are pleased to announce that Dr Emmeline Lee has been appointed as Director of BreastScreen WA commencing with a two-week transition period on the 17th February 2025.  Dr Lee’s appointment will have a focus on leadership, culture and driving the organisation into the future, alongside the very capable management team.

Dr Lee is a locally trained radiologist with 20 years of experience in Women’s Imaging.  She has extensive past clinical experience in mammography and breast assessment and works in the private and public settings as a radiologist.  Dr Lee has worked in multiple leadership roles within health, education, and is an adjunct Associate Professor at University of Western Australia.

Dr Lee’s appointment is a result of Dr Wylie stepping down from the Medical Director role at the conclusion of her current contract. BreastScreen WA thanks Dr Wylie for her indescribable passion and contribution to saving countless West Aussie women’s lives through the early detection of breast cancer. Her incredible tenure has seen her at BreastScreen WA for all but one year of its 36-year existence, including 25 years at the helm as its Medical Director.

Please join us in welcoming Dr Lee to BreastScreen WA and wishing Dr Wylie all the best for her future endeavours.
